1. What is "resin coated", what are the advantages of coated fasteners and which sort of fasteners are coated?

When driving the fastener, the resin coat is warmed by friction heat which creates an additional bond between the wood and the fastener. This increases the maximum load taken by the fastener. Staples used in houses and other buildings have to be resin coated according to DIN 1052 part 2 (Eurocode 5). New developments in resin material allow us to use environmentally friendly resins and still achieve maximum holding power.

2. Which fasteners are certified according to DIN 1052 part 2 or do we have staples in our product range with construction certification?

BeA produces and distributes construction staples with certification according to DIN 1052 part 2 (Eurocode 5) in various executions (stainless and galvanized) and lengths (38-78 mm). The staples are resin coated and can take a permanent load in pull-out direction. This has to be proved regularly with corresponding tests.

3. Which tool matches which compressor and what do I have to observe in choosing a compressor?

To calculate the effective delivered air quantity of a compressor:
a) Switch off the compressor and de-aerate container through condensate- outflow valve to 6 bar pressure.
b) Close condensate-outflow valve and switch on the compressor.
c) Stop the time (using the second hand of your watch) of how long the compressor needs to fill the container from 6 bar pressure to 8 bar pressure. Difference in pressure = 2 bar. d) Now put this time into the following formula

Volume of Container x 2 bar x 60 = Real quantity delivered/min
Stopped time (in seconds)

Compressor BeA K 190-10 fills a 10 litres container
from 6 bar to 8 bar in exactly 12 seconds: 

10 x 2 x 60 = 100 litres/min effectively delivered

The real quantity delivered of a compressor should be double calculated use of air of the pneumatic tools to be connected. This ensures - besides a safety reserve - that the compressor works only 50% and thus a longer lifetime of your the compressor. This means you have to cut in halve the real quantity delivered for your calculation. For example BeA compressor K 190-10

50% utilization  50 Ltr/Min  (when using longer air lines 10% line loss should be taken into consideration)

A BeA pneumatic nailer type 420 needs 0,3 litres/cycle. Thus 166 staples/min can be driven in with the compressor BeA K 190-10.
